The MCT Brattberg multicable and pipe transit was patented in the early 1950s and since then has become the industry standard because of its high performance and safety features.

Based on the simple but clever idea of a frame with insert blocks and an end seal, The MCT Brattberg is the original transit system.
The MCT Brattberg was patented in the early 1950s. When oil rigs and nuclear power stations demanded cable and pipe installations with proven safety records, the MCT Brattberg system became a worldwide solution. And we’ve been improving it ever since. Comprehensive documentation shows that its resistance to fire, water, gas and pressure meets the latest safety requirements.
Our own experience has shown that for a standard frame used for maritime applications, an internal width of 120.5 mm +0.5 mm, a depth of 60 mm and wall thickness of 10 mm are optimal window sizes for maintaining structural strength and for fitting insert blocks. The welded corners are rounded for added strength. Both single and multiple transits frames are available.
The dimensions of the various frames have become the industry standard simply because these types of frame were first to be introduced and have proved successful over time.

Frames
- RGS is the most common frame type.
- RGSF & RGSFB are used with larger holes.
- RGSFB is also used in areas where hot working is prohibited.
- RGSC is a frame for use in high stress areas. RGSK is a deeper frame for use on outer decks where pooling of water and debris is a problem.
- RGP is a round Lycron rubber frame for transit seals in holes and pipes.
- Round sleeves are used together with the RGP frame when installed this in a deck or bulkhead.
- For land-based applications, we also supply frames for both casting or bolting to a structure (RGB frame) and mounting in lightweight wall constructions (RGG frame).

| Insert Blocks |
MCT Brattberg’s insert blocks are manufactured from Lycron, a synthetic halogen-free polymer containing a lubricant that was specially developed according to our specifications to withstand fire, explosions, temperature variation, ageing, radiation and pests.
The blocks are injection moulded to give precision components with a high degree of accuracy.

| Collar System |
For added fire protection with maritime and offshore applications, insulation is often attached to one or both sides of a bulkhead as well as around the cable transit.
EMC Protection
On certain ships, offshore installations and land-based buildings, protection is required against electronic interference.

|
